IGDecenal. Construction insurance

Decennial insurance for your project

Protection starts
with a well-managed application.

Every build is different. We start with those differences to organise the required information and support the decennial insurance application.

Let’s review your project

Insurance linked to your project.

Decennial insurance is part of construction insurance. Arranging it requires an assessment of the building’s characteristics and the available technical documentation.

The scope, terms and acceptance of a proposal depend on the project and insurer. That is why the first step is to understand your case.

Information before assumptions.

The location, building use, construction stage and project documents provide a starting point. The final requirements are established during the review.

If you already have plans, a ground investigation report or technical control documents, mention them in your initial enquiry. You do not need to provide all documents at first contact.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers to your first questions.

Can I enquire before construction starts?

Yes. Tell us the project stage and what information you have. This is the starting point for identifying the next requirements.

Which documents should I prepare?

Start with the developer and project details. Plans, ground investigation reports and technical control documentation may also be involved. See our documentation guide; the exact list depends on each application.

What is the OCT and what role does it play in decennial insurance?

The Technical Control Body (OCT) is an independent organisation that reviews the design and supervises the execution of the works. Insurers usually require its involvement to issue decennial insurance, and its reports, such as the D0, form part of the file. If you need one, you can also ask us for an OCT quote in your quote request.

Does IGDecenal act as a technical control body?

IGDecenal focuses on managing insurance and its application. Technical control documentation is the responsibility of the technical control body involved in the build.

Does requesting a review commit me to a policy?

No. The first conversation helps us understand the project. Coverage terms and acceptance are assessed during the insurance application process.

Can the website guarantee a price or timeframe?

There is no single price or timeframe for every project. The documentation, build characteristics and insurer’s assessment determine the outcome.
